How the process works
Studying in Germany means a national (D) visa for study, an admission letter from a German university, and proof that you can cover your living costs. From Nepal you apply to the German Embassy in Kathmandu. Here is the process, step by step.
Get your university admission
Apply to your programme (directly or through uni-assist). Keep the admission letter and any scholarship certificate for your visa file.
Prepare your language certificate and money
Your English or German certificate must go in with the application. Prepare proof of funds: scholarship, sponsor, family finances or a blocked account.
Apply through the Consular Services Portal
Upload your documents online. The embassy tells you if anything is missing before your appointment.
Attend your embassy appointment
Show your originals, give fingerprints and a photo, and pay the €75 fee in Nepali rupees, cash only.
