Australia student visa: most students cannot bring family from 2 October 2026
From 2 October 2026 most Australian Student visa applicants cannot include a partner or children. Applications made before that date follow the old rules.

Canada study permit: proof of funds rises to CAD 23,448 from 1 September 2026
For applications made on or after 1 September 2026, a single student outside Quebec must show CAD 23,448 a year for living costs, up from CAD 22,895.

UK Graduate visa to be shortened to 18 months from 1 January 2027
Graduate visa applications made on or after 1 January 2027 will get 18 months instead of 2 years. PhD graduates still get 3 years.
