How the process works
Studying in Australia means a Student visa (subclass 500), a course registered for international students, and proof that you can pay your fees and living costs. Here is the process from Nepal, step by step.
Get your offer and Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Accept your offer and pay your deposit. Your university then issues a CoE, which you need for the visa application.
Buy health cover and prepare your money
Arrange Overseas Student Health Cover for your stay, and get evidence of AUD 29,710 for a year of living costs plus your first year's fees and travel.
Take an approved English test
Most degree applicants need IELTS 6.0 or PTE Academic 50. Take the test at a centre: at-home online versions are not accepted.
Apply online through ImmiAccount
Apply from outside Australia, pay the AUD 2,500 charge, then give biometrics and do a health check if you are asked.
